Tim Brennan (1992-2006)

TIM BRENNAN

Led the Knights to six appearances in the State Finals, winning three of those State Championship contests  (1994, 2004, and 2005).  His squads won seven conference crowns, three in the Snake River Conference (1994, 1996, 1999) and four in the 4A Southern Idaho Conference (2001, 2003, 2004, 2005).  A three-time football letterman at BK, Brennan started on defense as a sophomore and served as backup to senior QB Nick Brunelle.  Brennan was the starting QB under Coach Ken Krahn in 1975 and 1976.  He also participated in wresting, track, and boxing.  A 1977 graduate, Brennan attended Carroll College for one year before completing his college degree at Boise State.  He was an assistant at Weiser High School for ten years, working under Head Coach John Srholec, Sr.

Although Brennan didn’t arrive as BK’s head coach until 1992, his extensive family was involved with the program since the early 1970s.  The oldest of nine children, Brennan was one of six brothers to play football for the Knights.  His sisters are still among the most ardent BK fans.  Tim’s parents, Tim and the late Judy Brennan, were active BK Boosters and served in various coaching and support roles over the years. Brennan and his wife Denise have two children, Kaylyn and Ryan.

Coach Brennan had ten players who went on to play complete football careers at the collegiate level: Nate Krier (Fort Lewis); Sky Dumont (Boise State); Joe Bleymaier (Delaware); Josh Schrum (Montana-Western); Tommy Steiner (Saint Mary’s); Tom Bleymaier (Cornell); Tad Miller (Boise State); Tim Brady (Boise State); Colt Brooks (Boise State); and Zach Thiry (Carroll).  A number of Brennan’s former players are currently playing as well:  Andy Silsby (Boise State); Cody Hawkins (Colorado); Kyle Cefalo (Colorado); Spencer Gerke (Boise State); Cedric Febis (Boise State); Stew Tracy (Idaho State); Dan Schaffeld (Montana Western) and Brock Hyder (Montana-Northern).
