MAYOR BIETER TAKES A KNEE: Knight Fullback Schedules Surgery

Former BK fullback and part-time linebacker Dave Bieter is scheduled to undergo total knee replacement surgery next week.  Bieter, an outstanding 3-year starter during the Krahn Era, played one season of football at the collegiate level at the College of Saint Thomas in Minnesota. His knee has been an ongoing problem since a serious injury occured during an intramural football game in 1985 during his law school days at the University of Idaho.

Mayor Bieter to undergo knee-replacement surgery

Mayor David Bieter will undergo knee-replacement surgery next week to treat a long-standing problem caused by an injury he incurred playing intramural football in the 1980s.

The surgery will be performed December 15. The Mayor is expected to be out of the office for approximately 2-4 weeks depending on the speed of his recovery. Council President Maryanne Jordan will serve as acting mayor whenever Mayor Bieter is unable to carry out his duties.
