TRUE BLUE: Tim Brady Caps BSU Career

When Tim Brady takes the field for Boise State in the 2008 Poinsettia Bowl, it will mark the end of an inspirational collegiate career – one that all of BK Nation can look to with pride and ownership. The son of Tim Brady ’79 – and grandson of two of BK’s key founding supporters, Hugh (RIP) and Cherie Brady – young Timmy enjoys the support of literally dozens of close relatives and hundreds of BK boosters from the Treasure Valley and beyond.

Friday Nights at BK

Brady’s seasons as QB at BK were very successful, and he managed to play a lot of D as well. The Carroll College Saints program caught his attention, and he headed to Helena for a redshirt season. But BSU beckoned. He ultimately walked in the footsteps of  another BK great, Colt Brooks converting from QB to Linebacker at Boise State – and playing a key role in a series of storybook seasons.

Brady Once Played for the Horned Frogs!
The Broncos face the TCU Horned Frogs in Brady’s final game as a collegian, and there is a little known aspect to this: Tim once played for the Horned Frogs! In this case it was in his youth, playing both ways for the “Bob Rice Ford” Horned Frogs.
Brady won his final game as a Horned Frog, as a 12-year-old in an Optimist Bowl game. This time, in his final game as a Bronco, he hopes to send the Frogs home feeling pithed.

BSU in his Blood

Described by Head Coach Chris Petersen as “Total Boise State guy – awesome person, great student, hard-working guy,” Brady followed in the footsteps of his uncle Mike as a Bronco player, honoring the Brady lineage by wearing the same jersey number, 24.  When Tim puts the finishing touches on a great career in San Diego, his wife Brittany (BK ’04) and parents Tim and Kelly and sister Lindsay (BK ’07)  will be among those cheering him on – along with many other backers of the Black and Gold and Blue and Orange.
